New park project will enhance walking, running

park2
A new rubberized surface is being installed on the asphalt path in Kennedy Park. Child Safe Products, Inc. of Riviera Beach has had their crew out this week placing a shredded recycled rubber mixed with a liquid adhesive onto the paths which acts like a cushion when you walk or run on them.

The material is spread one inch thick on the asphalt and then smoothed out by hand, it takes up to 48 hours to dry, so you may see portions of the path blocked off while the surface is drying. Within a couple of weeks, the whole park should be completed.

At left is Gary, the project foreman. Above, the crew is cooling off with AC's Icees in the humid, summer heat. Below, you can see how the project is taking form.
