Raising money for Haiti through art
Last Saturday night, during the Coconut Grove Gallery Walk, the Rodezart.com Gallery, raised $6000 for the American Red Cross through the sale of "The Gift of Love" (a signed 11" x 11" giclée on canvas), where 100% of the proceeds went to the International Response Fund for Haiti via the Red Cross.
Above are Gloria Danovitz, Chief Advancement Officer for the Miami & the Keys Chapter of the Red Cross, with artist George Rodez and Aida Martinelli, American Red Cross Senior Director International Services.
George created the "open edition" "Gift of Love" in in honor of a member of The Captial Grille restaurant staff who lost 11 family members in the January earthquake in Haiti.
"I can't imagine losing one family member, let alone 11," said George. "I was heartbroken."
You may purchase a signed copy of the painting at The Rodez Gallery at CocoWalk, they are located on the second level, right next to Crazy Pianos.
