Nomade featuring exploration of photography
Charis Kirchheimer is June's featured artist at the Nomade Gallery (3133 Commodore Plaza). Starting June 5, Gallery Walk night, Nomade will premier their exploration of photography exhibit which will consist of works by professionals and amateurs. The exhibit will be on display through June 30, 2010.
Charis, a Miami-based photographer began her career in 2007. She will showcase three series: “Zoophilia”, a daring black and white photographic collaboration with Tamara Sky that captures an ethereal bunny-being sauntering through a ghostly dimension; “Transience”, an engrossing pair of long exposure self-portrait photographs, both of which had their first gallery debut during May’s SIREN exhibit with artist Danny Catania; and the premiere debut of “Dirty Laundry”, documenting a lucid dream adventure in a 24-hour laundromat on a late winter’s night.
Other featured artists are Georges Bourgoignie, Catherine Bon, Looi Long Lee, TamaraSky, Aida Tejada and Pierre Traversat.
Nomade Gallery looks forward to following up the success of May’s Gallery Walk, an art affair that prompted the Miami New Times to dub Nomade’s May 1 show the “...highlight of [Coconut Grove’s] art walk...”.
