The Ivy closes its doors; for now . . .
Tim Power, the owner of The Ivy in the Grove (3159 Commodore Plaza), tells us that The Ivy is closed as of this moment and may be closed for six weeks or so. They had a large Cinco de Mayo event planned for tonight, but that won't happen.
Tim had planned to close The Ivy for the summer, so this could be a short closing or longer closing, if that was the plan and they expected to be back in September.
There are code issues with construction, plumbing, back rent and back fees due the those pesky parking fees that have caused so many popular restaurants to close in the past.
We wish them well, hope they can complete what needs to be completed and look forward to their speedy return.
