It's Goombay Festival time again
The Goombay Festival is back for another year. Celebrate the history of Coconut Grove, which was settled by Bahamians in the early 1800s.
The 34th annual Goombay Festival on Sunday, June 6, from noon to 8 pm, draws hundreds who enjoy fresh food and lots of drink, the lines form early for the conch and shrimp specials and the scent of slow cooked ribs fills the streets from one end of the festival to the other.
There is a small Junkanoo parade midday with lots of colorful costumes, whistles, drums and cowbells. The day continues with lots of music and fashion.
It's the world's largest "stepping party." Come out and enjoy Bahamian culture.
