I Love Lucy at City Hall redo?
This mid-1950s scene of the I Love Lucy cast, taken behind City Hall with then mayor, Randy Christmas, here in Coconut Grove, may be repeated in July.
The Desi Arnaz Orchestra will be at the The Adrienne Arsht Center from July 8 to 11 for five performances of their "Babalu" show with Lucie Arnaz, Raul Esparza and Valarie Pettiford. They performed to standing room only crowds in New York in January.
Desi Arnaz Jr., maybe joining them on stage, too, playing percussion. Desi may be with his wife Amy and Lucie with her husband Larry Luckinbill and they may come to City Hall to recreate this photo while in town.
The funny thing is that the Chamber is thinking of recreating Ricky Ricardo's Copacabana Babalu club for the next Casino night this fall and Lucie and Desi Jr. will be in town for the Chamber's Fourth of July, too, arriving for the Arsht Center gig on July 2. Maybe the Chamber can meet them through local channels and well, who knows, maybe a local appearance on July 4th or dare we say Casino night at the recreated Copa? I'm just sayin . . .
