This kvetch-fest is not very friendly

We got up at the crack of dawn today to experience the Walk with a Doc in Kennedy Park. It seemed civilized at first, a few people sitting around the picnic table near the parking lot, they offered coffee, water, bananas and granola bars (we had coffee).

But then, when the doctor is ready to talk, the people of the park are told to shut up or leave, I think they asked the birds and squirrels to take a hike, as well, as they were taking the spotlight off the doctor.

We were about 100 feet from the table speaking to friends and one lady (not the doctor) told us to join in the discussion or go farther away. Guess it's all about the doctor, not about the park experience. So we sheepishly joined the table discussion and realized it is all about free doctor advice. If you want to hear people's problems (I have a pain here, I have a headache, I have a vitamin D deficiency) and you want to hear the doctor go on and on as the expert, which we are sure she is, this is for you.

It wasn't for us, the rudeness and kvetching was not what we expected. We'll stick to our usual gym workouts and running and bicycling and the non-kvetching sports, where we can actually have fun in the park and not feel like an admonished school child.
