Put on your orange and go green on Bike Day
Bike Day is coming back to the Grove on Sunday, April 25. Like last year, the streets of Coconut Grove will be closed down to vehicle traffic, but bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, people just walking and anything "green" are the mode of transportation that day.
If you remember last year, you'll remember how much fun the day was. The Grove is a different place without any auto traffic.
Orange is the color of the day, in that the Netherlands will be part sponsor again this year in honor of the Queen's birthday with orange being the Dutch color. Along with mayor Tomas Regalado, Consul General of the Netherlands, Lucita Moenir Alam will help kick off the day of orange in Peacock Park (2820 McFarlane Road).
“This is a great activity for the whole family to enjoy,” said Mayor Regalado. “Cycling is a fun and green way to see all the beautiful things our city has to offer.”
Cyclists will have the opportunity to ride freely along a designated route in Coconut Grove. Other activities will include giveaways, skateboard demos, and bike clinics. For more info, please contact Collin Worth at Cworth@miamigov.com.
