New free 6-week running program being formed
The first running group, shown here, went so well so Andy Clark (above left) is offering one more free program. Thursday, April 22 at 7:30 pm (at Kennedy Park), will be the official start of a 6-Week Running Program designed to get you race ready for the Twilight 5K in South Miami on June 6.
The program will offer two categories:
1) This is my first 5K or it's been a while. (Beginner)
2) I want to improve my 5K performance. (Intermediate to Advanced)
Everyone is welcome to participate even if you are not a runner. The run itself will be 3.1 miles which you can run, walk, or combine both.
Included in the 5K Training Program are: weekly group sessions every Saturday at 9 am (not mandatory to attend but recommended); Training plan and schedule that will outline everything you need to do (typically 2 sessions on your own during the week plus 1 Sat session); Nutrition/Hydration info to help you perform your best; and Race day prep
