Bombay Darbar gets better and better with time

bombay1
We were asked the other day what happened to Anokha on Virginia Street, we scratched our heads and asked haven't you heard of The Grove Spot in their former location or Bombay Darbar? Bombay Darbar is in the first former location of Anokha at 3195 Commodore Plaza, you really can't miss them, the delicious scents will draw you to them alone.

Above is the Tandoori Shrimp ($16.95), steaming hot as it is brought to the table.

The Chicken Vindaloo ($14.95) is tender and spicy (or not, if you prefer that) and their mouth-watering sauces complete the flatbread experience. Lamb, chicken and seafood curries and seafood, lamb and chicken kabobs are just part of the extensive menu.

Soups are $4.95; Saag Gosht ($15.95) is Lamb cooked with spinach, garlic and spices; Lamb Pasanda ($16.95) is boneless lamb prepared in creamy cashew sauce; Lamb Roganjosh ($17.95) is boneless lamb cooked in tomato sauce with Yogurt and spices.

A few of the Indian breads include Naan, Garlic Naan, Paneer Naan and Onion Kulcha (starting at $2.85).

The Chicken Tikka ($15.95) is marinated chicken breast grilled in clay oven; the Sheek Kabob ($14.95) is spiced minced lamb cooked on skewers in the clay oven: the lamb chops ($21.95) are a rack of lamb, marinated in ginger and cooked in a clay oven; Tandoori Shrimp ($16.95) is marinated shrimp cooked in a clay oven, too.

There are many vegetable and chicken dishes, Indian beers and lots of delicious desserts. Try the homemade pistachio ice cream ($4.95) our favorite.

Bombay Darbar is quite busy on weekend nights, so you may have to wait for a table, but it is well worth it. While the weather is still cool enough, sit outside, enjoy the night air and special ambiance of the place. You may reach them at 305-444-7272.
