Art contest for Fourth of July "event art"
The Fourth of July Committee is doing something new this year, they are commissioning event art for the Fourth of July weekend from the students at the Academy of Arts and Minds.
"We’ve asked them to come up with art representing our theme, 'The Grove Stars on the Fourth', incorporating Grove themes and making it patriotic. The arts subcommittee, which consist of Michelle Alvarez, Sylvia Quinn and myself will select the art at the later part of this month," said Willie Vega, event chair.
At the Chamber's May networker on May 25, they will have the official unveiling of the art, which will be placed on t-shirts, posters, palm cards and the banners. The t-shirts will be sold at the networker and during the event in limited quantities.
