"Tigers in the (sea)grass" discussion
Dr. Heithaus will share his work tracking and studying tiger sharks, sea turtles, dugongs, and more in one of the last remaining pristine seagrass ecosystems.
ETBM provides a casual environment in which people can learn about ongoing marine research and discuss ocean issues, particularly as they relate to Florida. No science background necessary. Things will start off with a brief introduction of the featured guest scientist, who will speak about his current projects and then there is a break for five minutes to allow folks to fill up their beverages or talk to their neighbors. This gives people time to think about the talk and formulate their questions.
Next the floor is opened up for questions and a discussion The speaker and interested attendees are welcome to enjoy a beer or glass of wine as long as they like, after the formal discussion is over.
