The First Saturday Art Stroll is so many things
It's hard to explain the Coconut Grove First Saturday Art Stroll on the Mayfair Promenade. It's a bit of everything. Johnny Valdez runs the show and he has so much going on at once. Artists are set up around the promenade and there is free food and drinks and lots of music. Martin Terry, the one man orchestra, has people dancing from the moment they arrive. He plays smooth jazz, Latin and really had people dancing to the Hava Nagila last night.
With all that, throw in the businesses on the promenade from Out of Africa, Hibiscus Hill, The Three Stogies and The Improv, and there is quite an eclectic mix of goings on. Above at left are Rosi Fernandez, James Cue and Jessica Isabel. At right, Audrey Scott as the Mad Hatter and Theresa Calluori dance to the beat of Martin Terry.
Artist Sergio Torres was one of the artists displaying and selling on the promenade.
The Miami Rowing Club was raffling off a 2010 convertible Mini Cooper, here are Carie Stuart, Phoebe Benitez, Nicholas Nistal and Pia Valbuena, they'll be back at the March 6 Art Stroll to wrap up the raffle. You may enter then if you didn't enter the drawing last night.
Last night was such a fun night for everyone. One visitor in town for the Super Bowl was so impressed with the whole scene, that he invited one of the store owners to be his guest today in his sky box at the Super Bowl game. Talk about pleasing the tourists!

All the Grove restaurants were all busy with waiting lines. We enjoyed our wait at Focaccia Rustica with complementary wine and small hors d' oeuvres under their awning with the rest of the waiting crowd. Everyone was feeling and looking great.
