Final day to enjoy the art, music and food
Today, Monday, February 15, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival and the St. Stephen's Arts Fair wind down. At sunset, they are gone for another year. It's been a beautiful holiday weekend, a little chilly for some, but perfect for many.
If you are lucky, you may get the chance to see Georgia football player, turned artist, Sidney Carter painting right at his booth at St. Stephen's. He expresses his rich cultural heritage through deep, rich bold colors.
Daisy Lewis, St. Stephen's festival director and Bill Ritzi festival art director, did a great job, running the show so smoothly. Local artist Eileen Seitz, is selling her signature textile art right outside St. Stephen's at the "First Stop" art area off McFarlane Road.
At left, are the paper mache whimsical figures created by Sarena Mann, she has a booth set up at St. Stephen's. Also at St. Stephen's is The Laffing Stock, creative and usefool kinetic wood sculptures by Rick and Linda Bachman.
If you haven't been out, today is a little less hectic and deals can be made by many artists who don't want to lug everything home.
