Shakespeare in the Park coming to The Barnacle
Shakespeare Miami has moved it's Shakespeare in the Park this year from Peacock Park to the Barnacle (3485 Main Highway).
"The Taming of the Shrew" will be performed on January 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 pm and on January 17, there is also a 2:00 pm matinee.
On Saturday, January 16 at noon, there is a Children's Tea with Shakespeare story hour.
No charge for any of the performances. A summary of the story is here.

why are they not in Peacock Park - that was a great location
Why not Peacock Park indeed. Free or not there IS, a fate fee at the Barnacle.
The city would not allow them to perform at Peacock Park due to budget cuts. The Barnacle became available at the last moment.
I hope they'll be able to stage the production on the porches of the house: it would hearken back to how companies actually produced plays in Shakespeare's day.
