Enjoying the Green Market each week
The Mayfair Green Market sold a lot of fruit and vegetable juices yesterday, but they seemed to have sold just as much hot chocolate. And we got a whole bag of goodies for only $7.00. Five juicy tangerines were just $1.00! The honey was $3.00 prepared lunches were just $6.00.
If you haven't been, it's a great place to visit each Wednesday.

I tried going two weeks in a row in december and I was disappointed. One week at around noon there was only one vendor there selling plants and cucumber soda (which was amazing). He did the best he could to keep us there but after 20 minutes I left. The following week the vendor that was there said everyone was running late. I had brought a friend and we ended up leaving. It has been inconsistent which is a shame but maybe we will try again next week
Grape,
After reading about this on this blog, I finally decided to visit the Grove yesterday with a friend who was visiting Miami. We found the Mayfair but saw no signs to the market. We asked the valet folks at the entrance of Mayfair hotel and they first said - no idea, then one of them remembered and directed us to go around the block. We did - but no market (this was around 2.00 PM). We were so disappointed and just walked about and left in a few. We did enjoy browsing the Britto gallery. From your site, it seems the Grove is a vibrant place to be - but when there - it looks like a dead place. Today we spent the mid morning at Bayside market and even at 11.00 AM - it was more alive than what we saw yesterday in the Grove post lunch..
Apologies for the long note and thanks for sharing the information about your neighbourhood.
The Market was there until 6 pm, in fact this photo was taken about 2 pm. So not sure why you could not find it. They have the street closed in front, there are many big signs. In fact one is still standing there today.
I wanted to go but it is so hard to make it out there on a weekday... I wanted some of that honey to make baklava with.
they should stay open longer so us working people can get there after work!
Maybe next week.
Atchana bought a bunch of kettle corn from the market, and boy was it good! A few of us from the office will be there for sure next week Wednesday to have a delicious, sweet & salty treat :)
