Who needs Muvico when we have all this?
Last night, I headed to the Mayfair Promenade for the showing of "White Christmas" under the stars. To my surprise, it wasn't set up like Fresh Air Flix has done it in Peacock Park each year, it was smaller and more intimate.
My friends were actually setting up the whole thing -- Louis Del Borrello and Theresa Calluori (left), so I helped out. Paul Diaz, from the sunglasses kiosk, had a flask of rum and someone mentioned eggnog, so I ran down to the Kwik Stop and got some eggnog and we all managed to have a little party while setting up.
We handed out some of the eggnog to other friends who passed by on their way to the movie and I helped put out chairs for seating; some people brought beach chairs and picnic baskets and before you knew it, it was as really little groovy Grove scene, with free popcorn, too.
It turned really fun when the inflated movie screen started deflating right during the movie -- priceless. Theresa commented on how this really made it "an event," and she was right. Most people in the audience were friends from the village and the whole thing turned into a quaint and cool Christmas memory.

That's great but is Muvico opening anytime soon? I'm tired of driving to Sunset Place when I could walk a couple blocks over to Coco Walk.
The word is April of 2010
