Ransom Seashell exhibit opened last night
A wonderful new exhibition joined the blue chip "Regional Treasures Show" at the Windisch-Hunt Fine Art Gallery. "REshells Seashells by the Seashore" was created by the Ms. Astrid Dalins' Studio Art Honors Students of Ransom Everglades Upper School. (The "RE" stands for Ransom Everglades in the "REshells").
Artists and alums pictured from left: Elonia McHenry, Becca Freidman, Julia Ardila (alum), Claudia Curiel (alum), Laurence Feyten and Michelle Nahmad along with proud mother of an artist (and an artist herself), Mrs. Patricia Nahmad.
Throughout Ms. Dalins' fifteen year tenure at Ransom Everglades, having a yearly exhibition in a prestigious outside gallery has been made possible by the collaboration with Anna Maria Windisch-Hunt in a variety of gallery venues. This year the students explode the gallery with their larger than life (to say the least) studies of a shell's essence. Each painting is a myriad of texture, technique and layering. The exhibition runs through January 4, 2010. Gallery hours 11 am-9 pm daily at 2911 Grand Avenue.
