Alter your hair, shoes and clothing in one spot
People are always asking where they can get their shoes or clothing altered. We have a place on Grand Avenue, at 3671 to be exact. It's Walter Alter's Barber Shop. Walter Daniels (left) has been at it since 1966.Bring your UM ticket stub or wristband for $2.00 off any haircut the week after the game! It's only $12 for a style cut for men and that's before the UM discount!
This is one of those neighborhood places that will remind you of Mayberry, like you're in the Andy Griffith Show.

Thanks so much for posting, this Grape! I use Walter for most every need in regards to shoes, clothes, and purses. He was able to mend a Dior handbag of mine, and a pair of boots in which one of the heels had broken. I will note, though, that he only accepts cash! Support the West Grove, and stop into Walter's
I first meet Walter when he was in his old store the blue single building on Grand. I needed my shoes repaired. When I saw the sign on the side of his building "Shu repair" I knew this was my man ! Walter has great stories about the ACE movie house. He and his son are very friendly, Happy and very warm. Thanks Grape
