Shake-A-Leg receives prestigious award
The Rosa O'Neill Community Resource Award is awarded to organizations or individuals who have engaged in foreign relations and assisted in bringing an international presence to the city of Miami.
“We are honored to receive this award and privileged to be able to assist the Miami Council for International Visitors in its partnership with the U.S. State Department as it establishes and enhances citizen to citizen diplomacy with communities around the world” said Harry R. Horgan, founder and CEO of Shake-A-Leg Miami. “As Shake-A-Leg Miami represents the gateway to Biscayne Bay, we enjoy sharing the wonders of the bay and our facility with both the local community and our international guests, and demonstrating how the power of sailing can rebuild the human spirit, improve self confidence and quality of life.”
Shake-A-Leg Miami has formed a partnership with The City of Miami to preserve its commitment to the community and is also sponsored by several other organizations, including The Florida Department of Education’s “21st Century Learning Centers” program, Royal Caribbean’s “Ocean Fund”, The Children’s Trust, Dade Community Foundation, and American Airlines among others.
