Making Mad Hats
While the Taste of the Grove party was going on, right across the parking lot, the Mad Hatter hat-making party was happening. Ironically, a lot of the conversation at the Taste party was about the Mad Hatter; nice bit of cross promotion going on.
Hats were being made for this weekend's big Mad Hatter Arts Festival (Saturday and Sunday all around the Grove). Above left, Katrina Boler, Steve Licata and Daisy Lewis, committee members, show off their creations. At right, Felice Dubin poses with her hat, which still had wet paint on it.
My hat will be made from the round plastic containers that held some of the decorations used at the Garland-making party, which was earlier in the week.
As you know, Grove Bucks will be randomly handed out to people wearing great hats, so wear your funniest, wildest and maddest hat and you'll probably have someone or two come up to you and hand you some Grove Bucks, which can be used at participating Grove stores until December 24.
