Decorating for December
Joe Harrison got the garland decorations up this weekend around the Grove. It may be hard to see among all the sign pollution, but the decorations are up. The tall light poles have the snowflake banners and the smaller old fashioned light poles have the garland and greenery.
While it all looked good on paper, I think that next year we need red, lots of red. Below you can see the current streets at left and at right are the decorations from December 2007. Last year they were sort of in between, some red and gold, but they didn't stand out as much as 2007's decorations.

Grape- this year's decorations are a more upscale than the 2007.. The silver does look great- it does not always have to be red..They look very nice and out of the norm for the Grove..
It's silver this year in order to not offend the Jews with red and green.
oh please we Jews are more offended by bad decorating decisions. Neither the silver garland nor the blue and purple flag stand out. And what's that thing on the flag, an octopus? I'm guessing a straight, possibly colorblind guy picket this out. No offense.
all right enough you clowns.... just say how great our decorations look and how nice it is that your neighbors volunteered their time to beautify coconut grove for everyone.
Thanks to everyone who took time out of their weekend to decorate our neighborhood!
Why is a volunteer decorating the grove? kudos to Joe and thank you for doing this! However why isn't the city doing this already? Or the BID? THANK YOU JOE!
Wait! Are there Lights?! the 'Season' is all about the lights... even for us Jews. I will be putting light up on my house next week!!
Ironic that these lamp poles that are so charmingly decorated to enhance the holiday festive spirit are the same ones that are destined to be replaced by FPL.
Like it or not Christmas colors HAVE ALWAYS BEEN red and green! Why jews are going to get offended? The same way we respect their holidays, they also respect ours.
And I agree, I think 2007 decorations brought more the real holiday spirit...
