Art, music, food and drink all over tonight
Johnny Valdes and Cindi Bettner host the monthly First Saturday Art Stroll at the Mayfair Promenade, with over 50 artists, free food and drink and lots of live music. The Ivy and Chili's (talk about extremes) will be offering food tastings.
Also on the Promenade, enjoy the GroveHouse Artists' new exhibit opening and the Mayfair Antiques and Collectibles Market.
Speaking of The Ivy, tonight is their Black Ball, for invites only, but stop by Commodore Plaza and enjoy the red carpet event as the black tie guests enter, stopping for photo ops.
You'll want to be on Commodore Plaza for the Coconut Grove Block Party, which takes over the whole street from 6 pm to 2 am.
Live music includes Afrobeta, restaurants will have tables in the streets, food and drink specials and merchants will be offering lots of special items. Entry into the block party is free.
Back at the other end of town, the Mutiny Hotel (2951 S. Bayshore Drive) is presenting art by Katiuska Gonzalez, as part of their free Pure Imagination series. It's easy to just walk from the Mayfair Promenade Art Stroll, right across the street, through the parking lot and into The Mutiny, no need to drive around to the formal entrance, when you can walk.
Just ask Paul at the Sunglasses kiosk how to get there if lost. It's really easy.
