Great afternoon of fun, friends and food

picnic
It was a nice, albeit, hot afternoon, for Stephen P. Murry's meet and greet picnic in Village West today, but the shady trees in the community green space park made it comfortable.

Stephen's friends and supporters came out to mix and mingle and enjoy some good barbecue provided by June Harris and her crew from
Simply Jerk.

Stephen is running for a Village Council seat. Here he is, flanked by Village Council member Michelle Niemeyer (up for reelection) and State Representative Carlos Lopez-Cantera, a fellow Grovite and supporter of Stephen.

Just as the picnic was ending, a rain shower began, which is supposed to be good luck. So it ended up being a great afternoon -- lots of fun, friends and food.

Thank you to everyone who made it out yesterday, it was great to see you all. A huge thanks to the people who put the whole thing together: Hope Mohr, Michelle Wedderburn and the ladies of Simply Jerk, Vanna, Bob, Deter, Melanie, and Andrew. Hopefully we can all get together again sometime soon. Glad you could make it out too Tom.
