Plymouth project approved without variance

The Zoning Board last night was a zoo.

On the subject of the Plymouth chapel, the board talked over each other and interrupted each other, the attorney for the church talked over them, the roll call was interrupted over and over again and it was really quite confusing.

The meeting ended abruptly after a couple of votes were made: the variance for the project was denied, they need to keep it within limits, including a 35 foot height limit and colors and design need to be addressed, so that the project fits in with the current buildings.

The PAB's decision is advisory. Plymouth may appeal to the City Commission, which can make its own decision, so be prepared to attend that meeting, too, if necessary.

A very close friend of mine's funeral was held at Plymouth, where she was a member for many years. It is hard to imagine if you were a member of that church wanting your wedding anywhere other than in the main sanctuary. It is a truly special space.
