Here are the Village Council candidates
The following is the list of qualified candidates for the nine seats on the Cocoanut Grove Village Council. Election day is November 3, 2009. We will get into more details about this as time goes on. I would like to invite the new candidates to send a one paragraph statement (with a head shot) explaining their mission and/or goal if they were to be elected and I'll run them as they come in. I don't think the incumbents need to do this, but if they wish to, they are more than welcome.
1) Heather Bettner
2) Kate Callahan
3) David B. Collins *
4) Liliana Dones *
5) Felice Dubin *
6) Rose Fountain
7) William Furry
8) Javier Gonzalez
9) Scott Janowitz
10) Giana M. Leyva
11) Stephen P. Murray
12) Michelle Niemeyer *
13) Sylvia Quinn
14) Renita Ross Samuels-Dixon
15) Patrick Sessions
16) Adam Weirich *
17) David Eric Wells
On election day, the nine candidates who receive the most votes will be the new Cocoanut Grove Village Council.

Grape, it would b nice if they all submitted a headshot and paragraph. Many new people have moved into the Grove within the last year and do not know the incumbents.
Thank you to all the new folks who have stepped up to the plate for our community and are willing to be considered. The Grove Village Council needs new blood, new ideas and new energy. I wish all of you luck & much success!
Grape how about explaining the duties and what changes they can implement as Village Council members. I understand it is only a sounding board with no teeth.
Hat's off to all those offering their service...
Just remember, you'll be representative, not just out for #1. Seems most in Miami forget that too quickly.
I see at least two realtors on that list offering their time to serve our community.
That's the spirit!
