Everything but the kitchen sink

Chicago's (3120 Commodore Plaza) new menu is out. They have just about everything. It starts with "Steaks, Burgers and BBQ," but there is also lobster and ice cream sundae's and shakes.

There are ribs and onion rings and French onion soup and steak and Jamaican grilled wings and crab and portobello as a starter and it goes on and on. There are all types of burgers, and pizza and rib eye and New York strip and Australian lobster tail and filet of lobster tail.

For BBQ there is BBQ pork, ribs, brisket, cedar plank salmon, and more.

As for ice cream, there are shakes and sundaes and they have a huge thing called the "Urlacher" which is a sundae that feeds a family of eight: there are eight scoops of ice cream, bananas, chopped nuts, chocolate chips and more. They have a regular banana split, hot fudge sundae, warm brownie sundae and rocky road sundae. They have thick shakes, fruit bowl shakes and candy store shakes.

The menu is available from 6 pm to midnight at the Steakhouse, the ice cream and shakes are availble staring at 11 am in the deli and that goes until midnight, too.

I like the idea of their extensive menu; had one of their roast beef sandwiches the other day and it was great; they just need to put a small thimblefull of potato, macaroni salad or cole slaw in a little paper container to make it perfect.

Waiting for the "Kitchen Sink'. Any of us from New York will totally remember the Jans kitchen sink. If one person was able to consume this Icecream monster, Jans would give you another FREE< Then roll you out of their store.

Saturday Night. Just returned from Chicago . The Burger is by far the Best in the Grove. I asked about code 33 and the manager made a copy of my card, and promised the next visit they will take code 33. Yes I will go back and really cant wait.

I thought the concept was about Chicago. No Chicago beers, pizza, etc. Wow so someone ordered some snapshots of the city, hung them on the wall and tried to sell a fake concept. Open for 2 months and a complete menu change. Has to make you wonder...

The negative comments here are coming from other restaurant owners or people who have never visited Chiacgo. Because everything about it screams Chicago.

I met the owner Manny before they opened, he gave me a tour of the place and told me his concept. This concept is what he has done.

Why all the hate?

I sat there last night with a friend, out at the sidewalk tables, having sundaes and milk shakes and it felt like an old fashioned ice cream parlor in one of Chicago or New York's neighborhoods, the music was perfect for the occassion and so was the food and drink.

At Chicago's you really feel like you are in Chicago. So again guys, enough with the hate. They have an incredible concept going here. It's a Steak House, Deli and Ice Cream Shop. The place is huge, there is room for everyone.

And on game days and nights, they have an upstairs bar that is a sports bar. All Chicago-style. So for you guys that like to bitch, try the place before you say something here.

I guess the expert(12:09) has not been to Chicago's...

First off I have talked to Marty and there are laws about beer distribution...And what beer do you drink brewed in Chicago (FYI..there are none left)..Old Style maybe...It's from Wisconsin and not available in Florida...

And if you had the facts before you opened your Big Mouth, you would know that they DO have Chicago Deep Dish Pizza...

All they are trying to do is provide a few differant options that the other restaurants are not...

I went there 3 days ago. Food was good but the service was horrible. They were out of alot and would not accept code 33. We asked to see a manager and the server told us one was not available. I will not be going back.

I just went to try a shake and a burger. Apparently you can only get burgers after 6. The shake was ok, but next time I'm going to Johnny Rockets for lunch.

In these economic times there are lots of options. Most people are going for the value. Now, they are trying to have value and be high class. I'm not sure that idea is going to work for them. I was there and the building looks great. The service I had the other night wasn't the best I have to say. My wife and I will probably not return back for a while so we can give them time to get things right.

Please give Manuel Martinez (the real owner) 11 Leprechauns, The Firkin & Friar, Don Quixote a break. He is throwing the “Kitchen Sink” ( sort of speaking ) Chicago’s for us to enjoy. He probably could have just left the space vacant as a tax write-off.
Hats of to Marty & Sharon (managers) for your tireless work to make this restaurant a reality.

No haters here however, from what I've seen first hand by dining is inconsistency. I feel Manuel is getting taken for a ride. Marty stop stealing ideas from other restaurants and come up with an idea of your own. "Bucket of Bones"? Come on now you know you didn't make that up. Be original. Be Chicago represent.

i've been to chicago's a few times within first two months that they were open. unfortunatlely i went again last week only to discover the bartenders that i very much enjoyed are not there anymore. the food is not bad, but i have to say they lost some personality with the new staff. managment should work on that for repeat business.

Hat's off to the staff at Chicago's. Watched the ND game on Saturday and had a great time. Food was outstanding. Had the Chicago deep dish pizza, and it was awesome just like being in Chicago!!! Service was top notch. Great sports bar upstairs with great TV's and you can actually listen to the game. Drink prices are the lowest in the grove. $2.50for beer where do you get that anywhere in Miami let alone the grove.

Give these guys a break everyone and try it out before you critisize. They are AWESOME!!!

Go Irish!!!

Can't wait for the BBQ, there's no place in the grove for good BBQ. Who cares what they call their ribs as long as it's good. Get a life people!!

Anonomous said he would go to Johnny Rockets for lunch. I took that advice. For a Burger, Fries and a shake that was mediocre at best, the service non existent, cost me $18.00 + and automatic 18% tip, the grand total was $21.24, talk about rip off. When I complained about the auto grat, they said they would get the manager and he could possibly remove it, I asked, then why charge it. Chicago's at least doesn't charge auto grat, and the food is superior.
For me I'll stick with Chicago's. By the way their Deep Dish Pizza's are to die for and for $15.00 can't go wrong.
