Art is taking over the Mayfair Promenade
The Mayfair Promenade is turning in to quite a little arts and culture center.
The Antique and Collectibles Market has been opening each weekend, rather than just once a month as planned. The GroveHouse Artists moved in right next door and now Artway66 Gallery is considering moving over there.
There are also plans for the large restaurant space in the back, by the fountain, an arts cafe is planned, hopefully something like Tu Tu Tango, but a lot of work needs to be done first, the place is falling apart.
And of course, the first Saturday of the month the whole Promenade fills up for the Art Stroll where there is plenty of food, drink, music and of course art. Johnny Valdes who runs the Art Stroll is looking for sponsors. He does a first class job and knows how to bring out the crowds. If anyone is intersted in getting involved with the event, you may contact Johnny at artway66@yahoo.com. They are always looking for any type of sponsor for food, drink and other things.
Paul's sunglasses kiosk is always in fine form, Out of Africa, Hibiscus Hill and the Cigar shop round out the cool places to visit. And at about 11 pm, the Improv brings out the crowds, too.
A green market is in the works and should be coming soon on Saturdays. And a Halloween village may take over the space at the end of October.

FYI the Cigar Shop closed on the Promenade at MayFair.
Good they were always nasty and I always felt it was a front for something. They were not Grovites and didn't want to be.
