Saying farewell to Johnny Woodruff
Johnny loved Scotty's, dined there often and said many times that it was one of his favorite places to go. He loved Coconut Grove immensely. Everyone is invited to speak about Johnny and afterwards they will scatter his ashes in the waters of Biscayne Bay. Thereafter, everyone is invited to enjoy a few beers at Scotty's Landing and reminisce about the life of a very unique man.
From last week's Sun-Sentinel: "John Holland Woodruff grew up in Miami Shores and emerged from the 1960s Coconut Grove counterculture to become a City Hall/County Commission gadfly -- long '60s ponytail intact under an ever-present white hat."

This is so sad. I first met John in Coconut Grove in the 1960s and he always typified the Grove to me. Like the song says "I always thought I'd see him one more time again." Goodbye old friend. I miss you. -- Anne B., Phoenix, AZ
