4:30 ok, sorry. CI
The Bike Summit had about 50 or more people in attendance. Joe Sanchez was present as he has always been very supportive of Bike Miami and biking in general. Mayor Diaz also made an appearance. It was great to see so many bike enthusiasts get a sneak peak at the future biking plans for Miami. Great aspirations for our biking community! I hope it does not take as long as they mentioned!
PS: I donated bathing suits to the Grapeland Water Park this evening as some of our needy kids can't swim at Grapeland Water Park because the don't have swimming trunks. I am trying to get Macy's to donate some swimming trunks as well. My fingers are crossed!

What Would Get Americans Biking to Work? Decent parking. By Tom Vanderbilt
When we talk about transportation, we tend to talk about things in motion. What is often left unremarked upon, in conversations about crowded highways, is something without which those crowds would not exist: parking. That humble 9-by-18-foot space (the standard size of a spot) is where traffic begins and ends. It is the fuel to traffic's fire. A number of American cities are now waking up to the fact that providing bicycle parking makes sense. The spatial and aesthetic challenges of having too many parked bikes attached to every last lamppost and historic building has prompted some wonderfully innovative design and market responses.
