Virginia Street festival updates

The Virginia Street Street Festival, which was to be a big thing on August 2 is not going to happen. Apparently the Grove can only have two events a month and the upcoming Woodstock festival in Peacock Park (details to come) and a ladies 5K run already have claimed August.

Some are scoffing at the Virginia Street closing for a Christmas village for a couple of weeks in December. For a year or more there was scaffolding and a mess on Virginia Street, that didn't seem to affect traffic patterns. Not sure why Santa will.

Sorry to hear that this party can not be done due to what rule ...? Is woodstck not in the park? ... and the run is through the whole or partial section of the Grove. Closing the street and scaffolding on the sidewalk, on the other end, is comparing apples and pears.

Well for weeks on end, there was huge machinery in the street, lifting the pool and plants and other things to the roof. The street closings because of the pool construction was very common and it was closed for days on end, maybe weeks. Not just the sidewalk, but Virginia Street from the Mayfair entrance to Grand Avenue.
