Interesting... What is interesting is who was included and who was not when this report was culled. For instance this report did not include that Regalado paid Jose Lopez $33,145 to lease the campaign office. It also does not include the newspapers that made donations. That will really make you wonder about whether to believe what you read in the media.

Lastly, it is really interesting that someone provided a luxury of details on the connections for Sanchez' donations. Hmm, I wonder who provided all that inside info? Possibly Braman who runs in the same circles as Loria and as such would know who his close friends are!? Makes you wonder.

Well, why don't you include the link for the city's campaign reports? Let your readers see for themselves.

At the end of the day, I don't think it will matter much who raised more money or who is supporting whom. What will matter to the voters in the end is which candidate is ready to roll up his sleeves, put his weight into this huge undertaking and deliver. Not an easy task. I certainly don't envy our new mayor.

Please review the lists of those folks and companies supporting the Mayoral Candidates Joe Sanchez and Tomas Regalado. Each list is most informative and enlightening. All registered voters that are not pleased with the direction that Miami has taken for the past 8 years should care greatly about the differences between the two lists and therefore the differences between the two candidates. You can tell a good deal about a person’s character and personality by the company that they keep. Look at both lists of supporters. Which list would you be proud to be associated with? Which list cares more about our community, its people and its future? Which list do you trust more? Which list is made up of individuals and companies that are more like you? That list will help you select the best candidate for Mayor to lead Miami into a better future and one we can all be proud of.

Tomas Regaldo's first donations were mostly $10, $20 and $30 checks. There were almost no "big" donors. Lately new money has come in as people realize Regaldo is the frontrunner.

I disagree. The money came in when Braman backed Regalado. And why is Braman backing Regalado who is not supportive of his passion for the arts? It is because of a personal vendetta he has against Loria. This is a war of rich men.

I included what looked to be relevant. I don't have a personal sway towards either candidate right now, and I am certainly NOT the 'media,' rather a private citizen who spent my weekend looking over the numbers. I didn't include any of the expenditures because that wasn't the purpose of my analysis.

There are not more details included for Sanchez, rather an explanation for the many out-of-state donations (mostly from NYC) he received. No information was provided to me, if you took the time to actually read what I wrote, all of this information was compiled using Google and Sunbiz.

What I was trying to show is that both candidates have many of the usual suspects funding them. Regalado, being considered the front runner, is starting to pull in a lot of big money. Also, from what I could tell, Regalado has more double entries (meaning illegal contributions) than Sanchez, so no candidate has the moral high ground in this case.

Lastly, all of this is public information. You can spend the time looking it up yourself if you aren't satisfied with what I presented:

Campaign contributions, by law, are public information. If you take the time and trouble to look them up. Mr. Murray has done the work for you. If you have a problem with his report, you can go do the research yourself. It's no secret under our laws.

Running for public office has become an expensive enterprise, and contributions are essential to any campaign. The question then is, does a candidate feel obligated to major contributors? In an ideal world, campaign chests would consist of small contributions from individuals, but that isn't what happens.

This information is extremely valuable to the voters. A tip of the hat to Mr. Murray for his work.
