Commission agrees to Village Council election request
There may be costs involved that the Village Council may not wish to incur, but it makes sense to do it this way because more people will vote when it's lumped in with the major elections.

cheaper too...
It is my understand that according to the Miami Dade County Election Office, it is very affordable to mail out voting ballots for an election of a community organization such as that of the Coconut Grove Village Council. This can be accomplished at any time for mostly the cost of the stamps. This option should be considered since the geographic area of the Coconut Grove is very small and the amount of votes in it are just a few thousand. We are all trying to reduce expenses. Have someone from the CGVC and or the City of Miami research the possibility of saving us all some money by contacting MDC Election Office and electing the next CGVC board members via a much more affordabel mail balot.

Well it sure is time for some new blood on the Village Council; hopefully some caring, energetic, residents will step up. Seems like the present members are tired and involved in too many other things to really concentrate on the Council.
