Restaurant Reality Check

Neighborhood Bistro

bistro
There's a new restaurant called the Neighborhood Bistro at 2779 Bird Avenue (the former French Kiss place). Funny enough, a few of us always say that we need a restaurant in the Grove called the Grove Bistro, so this is close enough.

It's a small restaurant with an air conditioned terrace. The prices are incredibly low for such high quality food. It's owner operated. The owner is a French chef from Cordon Bleu named Yoan Acosta. He worked at Le Chansonnier, Le Joayeaox del Morne and Mi Cayita in Paris. His partner is Alejandra Acosta, his wife, both are shown here.

They have only been open a few days and have already joined the Chamber and Code 33. With Code 33 they are offering a free glass of wine with dinner.

Some examples of pricing are:

Appetizers:
Fried Yuca: $4.99 / Chicken Caesar Salad: $6.99 / Cold Cuts Platter: $6.99

Entrees:
Meat Lasagna: $6.99 / Baked Chicken: $5.99 / Grilled Salmon with Leek Cream: $10.99
Bistro Burger (served with fries, salad and mushrooms: $8.99 / Beef Bourginon: $10.99
Pork Teriaki Kabobs: $7.99 / Grilled Churrasco steak: $10.99 / Pouched Chicken Breast: $10.99

Sides: Rice Pilaf, French Fries, Sauteed Vegetables, Green Salad, Tomatoes Provencal: $1.55 each.

They may be reached at 305-967-8170

I have been hearing Neighborhood Bistro is delicious! They should keep their sign lit at night and put more lights in the parking lot so more people know they are there.

Found out about this place through Grape (even though I live around the corner) and it's definitely a nice spot. Churrasco was awesome, the salad and veggies are good, and the chocolate fondue dessert (which is really like a gourmet chocolate cake) was delicious. The air-conditioned patio area was definitely a plus.

the grove finally has a place where you can get great food for a low price. its hard to notice the restaraunt. if only we could knock down that huge sign in front of flanigans its not we need to waste anymore power then we already do. but the only way this place will survive is if us grovers support it
