Red Light District to usher in the Great Grove Bed Race?

One cool thing brought up at the Bed Race meeting was to have the Grove decked out as a red light district, in a tasteful way (is that possible?) Guess so, they do it on old tv shows like Gunsmoke and Bonanza.

The black info booths would be decked out with lace and things like that and a woman in a negligee and a man in boxers would be in the booths, posing and probably giving out info on the Great Coconut Grove Bed Race.

The gas lights around the village (hopefully they are still standing) will be covered with red sheeting or mylar and that will give the effect, too. It will be a wild theme to welcome the Great Coconut Grove Bed Race.

It was brought up at the meeting that this could be a monthly event -- not the Bed Race -- but the red light district -- where we can have pub crawls and food crawls for hors d'oeuvres and things.

This is the most ridiculous suggestion I've heard to get people into the Grove.

Love it. This is a great idea! Who came up with that one?

Okay, was this meeting before or after Happy Hour? Tom, you wanted the Grove to be like Mayberry for July 4th and I doubt the Red Light District would be considered Family friendly on Bed Race day.

It was at 3 pm at the Wed. bed race meeting last week. Someone brought it up. As an advertising vehicle for the bed race.

I think it is a great idea. Forget the boring mayberry idea. This is what the Grove needs. I little bit of a risk.

Someone is running around with a deep crack below the surface; can't we have fun and have class at the same time? Pajama idea sounds like fun but turning the town brothel-like doesn't. Even Biscayne Blvd. is trying to lose that image.

Hey, we already have City Hall, so the brothel image seems perfectly apt.
Maybe a slogan, "The Village of Brothelly Love"?

What a nice family friendly idea! What will the vendors be selling?
