Grove Grand Slam starts later this month
The Grove Grand Slam Fishing Tournament is April 29 to May 2, 2009 this year, with lots of activities surrounding it. Monty's (2550 S. Bayshore Drive) is ground zero.Monty's has opened their new outdoor bar, that's where the Grove Slam weigh-ins are. The new bar is open every Friday with full liquor. On Wednesday, April. 29, the Slam is holding their Poker Tournament. Today is the last day to sign up before the fee goes up.
The poker tournanents prizes include a Harley, a Rolex and a cruise. The buy-in is $195.00, there's a pre-game buffet and a Miss Hotfish Bikini Contest preview at intermission.
As for the Grove Slam fishing contest -- about 200 teams sign up each year to compete. Everything is included for each team of four. The fee is $395.00 There is over $35,000 in cash prizes.
