Adding color in a simple manner

ny1
I was in New York last weekend and noticed something nice in Bryant Park and along 42nd Street -- the flowers. They have these nice big flower pots that go up and down the park and then continue up and down the street and it adds a lot of color and ties the whole area in as one cohesive unit. That would be nice around the Grove.

That is a great look and a great idea. Get the BID to do that as soon as possible; it would be a big improvement. Hopefully Code won't get in the way and say we can't have that on the sidewalks. It would really be charming.

As it happens, the fellow responsible for the Bryant Park BID has been the outside consultant for the formation of the Coconut Grove BID and indeed landscape improvements are very much part of the local plan. The first steps of the Grove BID, announced in a widely circulated email of April 10th, are arranging for increased security patrols and hiring sanitation crews for Saturday and Sunday morning cleanups, the two days on which the City of Miami (quite amazingly) does not provide the service. Landscaping is high on the list, but some of this other stuff has to get in gear first.

They have added these big pots to downtown Miami. Am hopeful they will be filled with nice plants.

I knew the Bryant Park BID guy was a consultant for our BID. I specifically went to Bryant Park for that reason.
