Earth Hour will be celebrated for most of today
Most places will shut the lights and things will be done by candle light -- dining, shopping, gallery hunting, etc.
Before that, from 4 to 6 pm, the new bike rack at Peacock Park will be dedicated.
The Museum of Science (3280 S. Miami Avenue) has a family day from 11 am to 3 pm with An array of environmentally-friendly activities, including: lectures on eco-friendly architecture and Florida’s wildlife, native tree informational activities and landscaping, human food chain game and energy conservation activities, what are solar cookers… and their use. Check Globe@Night in the Planetarium – a cool activity that will let you see the stars. Literally! Also, the Museum’s new exhibit, Megalodon: The Largest Shark That Ever Lived! is now open All activities are included with regular admission price.
Then for Earth Hour Greenstreet Café (3468 Main Highway) will be going candle light as they participate in Earth Hour. Acoustic music will be played and their drink menu will feature half price drinks. Check out the electric golf carts when there.
The Bookstore is offering 2-4-1 Wine specials.
Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth," will be showing at the Arts and Minds Center (3138 Commodore Plaza) as part of the Dinner and a Movie series at 8 pm.
CocoWalk is screening the new version of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" on an outdoor screen.There will be musicians strolling the streets and many stores and restaurants will feature specials.
