Tourists and visiting guests, you're on your own

brochures
There is this "Information Center" sign at Mayfair and when you go to look for information, there is a small rack of brochures, about 100 feet away, in a dark corner. The brochures are for Busch Gardens, Key West, Sea World, Monkey Jungle, Bahama Cruises, Tri Rail and even the erotic sex museum on South Beach. There isn't one Coconut Grove brochure.

And I'll bet that at all the information centers at all these locations that are indicated on the brochures, there is not one Coconut Grove brochure either. Something is wrong here. The Grove should be represented on our own rack and in every other rack location that has their brochure here. It should be a trade off.

We have empty black information booths scattered around the village and in the brochure racks, we have brochures for everything else but the Grove. I think we hate tourists.

Do Coconut Grove brochures exist? How many are there? Are they for specific Grove businesses, or is there one (or more) for the entire Grove? It's very difficult to put out non-existent brochures, and nearly as difficult to put out brochures that exist, but are not available to be put in racks.

As an aside, my wife and I have had friends from Hungary, France, and South Korea visit in the past months (we moved here recently).

The thing that interested all of them the most in Coconut Grove was the West Grove graveyard and that entire area. The found it the only "authentic" attraction.

Our friends from Korea called CocoWalk a "LA style mall" and the French were flattered and then shocked by the overpriced French restaurants.

It may be worth pumping some bucks into Charles Street, the intersection of Douglas. After all, those are the historical sections of the Grove (and nothing attracts tourists like the "historical").
