I've been thrown out of better places
Last week, I was thrown out of the Arts Festival office, they said it was after hours. I just wanted to show a friend a piece of art.
I am afraid to even dare try open mic night at Eleven Leprechauns.
I am beginning to have a complex.

Dear Grapevine,
I have noticed this problem in many places. It's called "Self Elevation". Lately, the problem has become worse.
It is evident when we encounter a person who is suffering from low self-esteem. When given the opportunity, that person will take on a self-prescribed authority to become an enforcer, all of a sudden becoming quite important. Example: You walk into the post office and you want to ask a question but the clerk tells you to stand in line. When it's your turn then you can ask your question!!!
When you meet someone with true authority in these situations, the opposite happens. They welcome you in, have a brief conversation with you, and then everybody goes on with their lives.
Funny thing is that in both situations, the time span is the same, less than one minute. The difference is that one is chaotic and the other is pleasant.
Very good Tony, This happens to me often and now I understand. Thanks
Jobie
