I wanted some "real" French food

Every time I come home with some sort of take out, there is George Farge, owner of George's in the Grove (my neighbor) greeting me at our building. Today he sees me with a big bag. I told him I wanted some "real French food" and I showed him the bag, it was from Au Bon Pain, the fast food place at Mercy Hospital.

He laughed.

I had to go for a cholesterol test this morning and as I left I stopped in for croissants, egg salad coffee and soup, the stuff that adds to my cholesterol count. They have Carvel ice cream there, too.

They are great at drumming up business at Mercy. They sell the cholesterol causing foods, then have you come in for tests and bill your insurance company.

They just sell it, Grape. You choose to eat it! My personal Au Bon Pain favorite is broccoli soup and a baguette. Mmmmm, yummy! Haven't eaten there much since it was the easy food in the lobby where I used to work downtown, though.

Le Bouchon has (IMHO) the best french food in the grove and miami for that matter. I've tried george's a couple times, wasn't crazy about it, not bad, just not great. Le Bouchon though is fantastic!

I am an idiot... I thought French Kiss was closed because its kinda hidden and I never really look when I drive by. Definitely some awesome French food there, better than Le Bouchon if you ask me. Thanks for reminding me about that one, Adam. I plan to hit it up next week.
