Is driving and parking on the sidewalks legal?
This couple with their dogs seemed to find an easy way to shop around the Grove this weekend. They used a golf cart and they had no qualms about riding it around the sidewalk, stopping literally at the door to the stores they were shopping in.
But it beats driving around the block trying to find parking. But is it legal to drive and park on the sidewalk? I don't think bikes are even supposed to drive on the sidewalks.

not it is not legal, and if they injure anyone they are going to be sued up the christmas tree.
super illegal.
And arrogant.
Guess the Cops and the City don't get their ticket "props" at the end of the day on these carts
Yeah it is cool til they run over someone's foot...if they have a license tag they should be on the street and be treated like every other vehicle including a valid drivers license.
It's sort of infuriating - but at the same time, coconut grove residents are so fed up with the lame parking situation in our own district, that breaking the law seems to be the only option anymore...
Give these electric cars free parking in the Grove. Lets be the Green village.
Its all part of the local tours...
Tour Guide: And if you look over here folks you will see what locals call the "Coconut Grove Douchebag". Driving around in his hey-everybody-look-at-me golf cart with no regard for others that are trying to navigate the sidewalks. You can usually spot this breed accompanied by a wife and/or a lap dog. Not to worry though, folks - this species cares not to waste a minute of time on common folk like you tourists...
I wish I had a golf cart.
anon,
those carts are NOT green. Yes they run on electricity, but you charge them at your home via traditional electrical generation for Florida which is a combination of natural gas, oil, nuclear, and coal.
I would hardly call that green.
In all fairness to the Dog, he is not part of the golf cart party. He belongs to the lady in the white pants who is tugging him away from THE CAR ON THE SIDEWALK.
The dog is possibly wondering why he can't get to the curb to do his thing. -- Margot Channing
They had a larger dog in the back seat.
