BID launch party held last night at Greenstreet Café

bid2
The BID (Business Improvement District) held a launch party last night. Dave Collins, leader of the BID sent out invitations earlier in the day to the holiday week event. Above, Dave addresses the crowd.

It was a meeting of minds to discuss how the Grove will now "chart its own course." Business owners, village leaders and property owners enjoyed the food, drink and conversation at Greenstreet Café on Commodore Plaza.

In attendance were Kim Koch, H (from H&H Jewels) and girlfriend Maria Prats, and Sylvano Bignon, owner of Greenstreet.

Look at all those smiling faces!!! Quite different from those from the Bookstore meeting, thank goodness. As a former looong time employee of Dave & Trinas', I can tell you that their love & commitment to the Grove commuity has been there many years before the idea of a BID appeared. Dave & Trina work hard every day to put some sparkle and LIFE into everything they do.

CONGRATS ON THE BID DAVE!! I TRULY know how hard you worked to get it going. Love forever & missing you in cold dank Atlanta, your feisty little Tania :)

David Collins lives and breathes Coconut Grove and the BIC. I don't think there is another person who would have persevered like David with a lot of obstacles bogging down the process. He never gave up and deserves this success, and we look forward to having David forge ahead with the BID. Keep up the good work David.
