Loud crowd of Mangoheads meets at Sammy C's
It was a loud crowd last night at Sammy C's for the King Mango Strut meeting. Over 50 Mangoheads attended.
The theme this year is "Doin' the Mangobama." That's Francesca Terry holding up the mock-up of the t-shirt, which should be available in early December. At right is Peer Everett, board member and Glenn Terry, artistic director.
The main gist of last night's meeting was coming up with raffle prizes. Tony Scornavacca was the first to offer up two tickets to a Heat game. A gourmet dinner for two was offered by someone. The annual cruise on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, is again part of the raffle, thanks to Antoinette Baldwin, parade organizer, who was not present last night.
They are still awaiting former School Head Rudy Crew's decision on being the Grand Marshall. Others being considered are Paul Naron, Iggy Pop, and Batman, the local Olympic runner. Part of the Strut this year will be local Olympians who were in China this past summer.
