He whistles while he works -- non-stop!
One day soon, I am going to walk over and shove that freakin' whistle down his freakin' throat. Trust me. This is going to happen and I'll take pictures.
It's bad enough that they start at 7 am and wake the whole neighborhood up, even on weekends with that heavy machinery that beep, beep, beeps, every time they back up the machinery, which is like ever three seconds. But this whistle has got to go.

According to the noise ordinance they cannot start work before 8am or continue after 6pm and if they do you should call 311. Also, they are not allowed to work at all on Sundays and holidays. You can also call the police non emergency number 579-6111.
usually a signal for objects being hoisted overhead, i think it's an OSHA guideline, at least they're working safely....?
It would be cool if these sort of nuisances were to be removed from our Grove Streets.
I feel for these poor people, and the .80 cent guy who attacked me and attacks Tourists every freakin' day, hurting our Village Business.
Of course, the city of Miami is so damn out of touch about these simple matters, that there are no solutions anywhere NEAR the Horizon.
Simple problems. No Solutions.
Carlos.
Tom,
Didn't know you were such a violent person!
The Coconut Grove Grapevine has a mean streak!
For those of you who think I have a mean streak, how about you email me your address and I'll come outside your house and blow a whistle non-stop for 8 hours?
They are actually pretty good with the noise. There is rarely any noise before 8am (it is directly below my bedroom window) and they have been admonished about those occurrences.
And yes the whistle is to warn workers of possible danger overhead.
Do what I do, Tom. Whenever I hear a whistle I think of a parade passing by and a Sousa march (usually the Monty Python theme) playing.
Hey Tom, you might want to take a minute now and go back and read your responses to those of us who have brought up the issue of noise ordinances and zoning w/r/t to the nightclub issue. ;)
I stand by that response. I live next to Mercy Hospital, I have never complained about ambulance noises (I just heard one in fact). I hear Vizcaya's events almost every night (not just music, but speeches and other noise -- including fireworks) and Grove Isle sends a lot of noise across the water with their events, I don't complain about that. Those I accept. They were here when I moved in. But the whistling drives me mad. It's all day, non-stop.
If it bothers you all day, you could always get a job like the rest of us.
