CBS casting for "The Ultimate Block Party"

This in from Lilliana Dones:

Since the Grove has already served as backdrop to Marley & Me, Burn Notice, Last Comic Standing and other shows, this one is a natural!

CBS is developing a reality TV show that will be filmed sometime next summer. They are looking for 7-10 neighboring households to participate.

I am thinking Gifford Lane, since they already have a block party with the Gifford Lane Art stroll, or even the residents on Micanopy with all the Peacock broo-haha and all the national press they have gotten on CBS this morning and the NY Times.

More info: You don't need to be "touching lots," but should be as close as possible. The families will play against each other, as it's a competition. The grand prize is "significant," but they cannot disclose it just yet. (Think Survivor, think Amazing Race!)

This will go on for 3 weeks. If you participate, you are "in the game" the entire time. It is a family friendly show, so both the challenges and the content will be appropriate for all ages. They are looking for competitive, dynamic, entertaining families. This will be a unique bonding experience for families as well as a unique community experience.

Filming will take place sometime next summer. Exact timing will be determined once the families are chosen. For more details email the casting producer Kathie Kopa at

Also - I would be delighted to schedule "town hall meetings" via speakerphone. I'll go over all the details, the application process, and answer everyone's questions. Please contact me about scheduling a meeting for your group. Look forward to hearing from you! kathie@blockpartycasting.com
