Speak Easy, with a touch of class, opens on Main Highway

Justin August and Jimmy Whisper have opened Speak Easy, above Boardwalk Tavern at 3421 Main Highway.

"We chose to invoke the spirit of the traditional Prohibition-era speak easy. A place where people could come to avoid the public consensus and speak the peace of mind that comes along with a true sense of freedom," said Justin.

He is entranced by old classic cocktails and small boutique spirit manufacturers and that's just what you'll find at Speak Easy, open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Jimmy (shown here) performs a beachy jazz set every Friday and Saturday night, accompanying the "hand crafted cocktails" that come from the "libatious brain" of Justin, the Mixoligist behind the madness. Their cocktails are made from fresh juices, herbs and assorted fresh seasonal fruits. They only offer premium drinks, starting at $8.00. Memberships are available.

"No jager bomb drinking juggheads allowed. Our nights begin at 9 pm and end when everyone is satisfied," says Justin.

Amen, beats the brainless ultra consumer atmosphere at Sandbar and the Tavern. Cheers and welcome to Justin and Jimmy.

They clearly don't want hysterical people, so this place is not for you.

I would love to hire any musicians or experienced bartenders that understand the intricacies behind the real craft of mixology. The memberships are for people who would be interested in paying a monthly, quarterly, or even yearly fee for drinks. I really despise running tabs and would prefer people prepay for a night of drinks at my whim, sort of a pre-fixe menu of drinks, if you will. The location is immediately next door (to the left) of Boardwalk Tavern, the entrance to the old gypsy fortune telling place. The idea here is to enthuse people into the idea of relaxing and having a place to call your own, thus memberships. Prices are determined by a brief interview with myself, not all members will pay the same price, and those with expensive tastes will obviously pay more, but will also reap the benefits of this connisuiers taste. My number is listed above if you have any questions feel free to call. Thanks, Justin August.

Have you opened officially? Can you only go with a membership or are memberships optional?
