Before tonight I had never been to Le P'tit Paris, so thought this was a good reason to stop in and check it out.

There were a handful of us debate watchers sitting together at the small inside bar. It was pleasant.

However, the service leaves everything to be desired. They don't have a liquor license, so instead add some kind of wine to their "bloody mary". Don't care for it - had a Peroni instead.

The french fries were limp. The worst part of it all was being served a previously picked-over basket of bread from another table, and adding insult to injury, it came complete with a used empty packet of butter!!! Gross! Isn't that against some health code? I still feel nauseated from it.

If I want french food I'll stick to the other three we have in the Grove.

Sorry, but it's all true.

First and foremost, I would like to express that I am not in the habit of bashing local restaurants, since I know how hard it is to make it in the business, let along in the Grove, a place that I've called home for the past 14 years. Having said that, I must comment on the following: As we were celebrating my husband's birthday a couple of weeks ago, we decided to go to Le P'tit Paris for dinner... Big mistake! I asked for a margarita and got a premix version of the drink instead, awful. The caprese salad lacked dressing, as opposed to the Ceasar salad which was soaked in it and warm. Finally, my escargot were fried and crunchy. By the way, it took about 35 minutes to get our meal, all of this in spite of the fact that only 4 tables were being served at the time. Unfortunately, when this place does not make it, it will be blamed on the economy istead of its awful food. On a final note I, must say the staff was very pleasant.
Next time we will go to our favorite spot "Focaccia Rustica"
