It appears that the City Commission has deferred the Grove Harbour issue at tomorrow's commission meeting. They are now seeing that there is major concern by neighbors and that there is strong support against the project.

More details to come.

Precisely. Gotta wonder what's up their sleeves now, those who have Financial interests there, and that includes "Comfy" boating officials and some people in City Hall, no doubt.

We are all working to stop this Nonsense of a building. Can't wait to see what their next scheme will be, or more positevely, maybe everyone is joining in just to protect the Grove Water Front, or whatever's still left of it.

Let's hope this doesn't mean we are giving the developer time to cut a deal with the City. THERE SHOULD BE NO OFFICE BUILDING ON THE WATERFRONT. Are you Commissioners listening, particularly those running for Mayor and those of you who want to get re-elected in the future? We will remember your vote.

If anybody can figure out why Michelle Niemeyer the Chair of the Village Council and Stuart Sorg the Chair of the Waterfront Board who are supposed to be protecting our waterfront are in favor of this office building, please step forward. Something stinks in Denmark and in Coconut Grove.

Maybe they are getting office space.

To anonymous 10:36 and 10:34:

I have more than thoroughly explained why I supported the project, in posts on the Grapevine with my name on them. I still believe the addition of the under-building space that has been offered by Grove Harbour to the baywalk would benefit the baywalk and the Grove.

We may agree to disagree but I don't appreciate your implication that I am getting something for my support (other than a lot of crap from you). I am an 11-year Grove resident who runs along that stretch of the waterfront almost every day and who has put an enormous amount of my time into the waterfront planning process. Just because I don't agree with you does not mean my motivations are any different than yours ... I care about our community and want us to have a great waterfront.
