New York Times writes about our peacocks on Micanopy

I was just lying back, reading the New York Times and noticed that in today's paper, they have a large half-page story of our peacocks. Guess it's a slow news day in New York. You can read the story on line at the New York Times website here.

It sounds like people think these are new to the Grove. Not so! Back in the 1960s I lived on Kumquat Avenue and regularly had a peahen on my roof outside my bedroom window, screaming at me for some reason. Maybe she was looking for her peacock, but he wasn't in the house.
